I think they designed this soapbaox racer to have a steering wheel interchangeable with the other 4 wheels... that is brilliant! Probably never need to do a quick roadside swap, but if you did, wow... you'd be off on your way with a flat, taco'd, or busted "steering" wheel, and that would not hamper steering at all!
I also think that the wood crate is perfect
